This year’s All-Ireland Safety Quiz Final was won by teams from the west and and the south with Mayo’s ShareRidge Ltd taking top honours in the Previous Entrants Category, while BioMarin from Cork took home the trophy in the Novice Category.
The All-Ireland Safety Quiz Final for 2026 at the Cavan Crystal Hotel, Co Cavan, on Saturday 18 April drew great support for the participating teams from their co-workers. A total of 15 teams competed from all parts of the island of Ireland for the final, which is run jointly by the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) and the Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG).
The results in the Previous Entrants Category finals were very close with the two top scoring teams battling it out for first place in a tie-break round. Bord na Móna (BnM), Co Offaly and ShareRidge, Co Mayo, both finished with 109 points each [out of a maximum of 128 marks].

ShareRidge Ltd won the tie-break round to claim the title of All-Ireland Safety Quiz Champions in the Previous Entrants category. The other seven teams in this category also performed strongly.
The results in the Novice Category finals were similarly close with BioMarin, Co Cork, emerging as this year’s winning team with a total of 87 points [out of a maximum of 96 points]. The Runner-Up prize was closely contested with two tiebreaker rounds after GRETB, Co Galway and MSD Brinny, Cork, both finished with 83 points. GRETB won the second tie-break round to claim the Runner-Up spot in the Novice Category.

Fergal McKevitt, NISO President and Wendy Moore, NISG Chair, presented the awards and trophies at a special prize-giving dinner at Cavan Crystal Hotel. McKevitt noted that all participants should be proud of their efforts to improve occupational health and safety.
Congratulating participants and commending the workload undertaken by the teams for the safety quiz finals, Wendy Moore noted the importance of the safety events held jointly by NISO and NISG to help further the promotion of health and safety on the island of Ireland.
