The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has appointed a new CEO in its bid to drive a new era of growth and impact, with Rebecca Hickman becoming the first female chief executive of the Birmingham-based charity in its 100-year plus history.
Hickman, who has climbed RoSPA’s ranks over the last 20 years, will lead the organisation in the next phase of its journey to becoming a truly member-centric, impact driven charity. With over two decades of dedicated service, her journey to CEO has been defined by key transformation initiatives. Under her tenure RoSPA’s sales and marketing functions were rebuilt and the now flourishing strategic partnerships division was born.
Commenting on her appointment, Hickman said: “As with many charities, the pandemic necessitated short-term survivalism within RoSPA, but after working hard to steady the ship, we can now think longer term and build solid foundations to maximise RoSPA’s impact and drive meaningful change.”
Mike Parker CBE, Chairman of RoSPA, said: “Becky’s pivotal leadership in our transformative journey so far highlights her invaluable contribution to RoSPA, and the Board made the unanimous decision that she should be CEO. This reflects her outstanding performance and the full support of her fellow directors, affirming our commitment to progress and strategic direction.”
